Woodrow Wilson once said, "If you want to make enemies, try to change something." But change is an inevitable part of the future, and instead of fighting it, I believe we need to be equipped with the knowledge and foresight to adapt to it. Not all change is bad; progress cannot occur without change, and change opens the door for new ideas that can introduce opportunities for growth.
My promise to the citizens of Gordon County is to make our community a safer place to live and raise families.
If elected, I promise to represent our county with professionalism, honesty, and integrity. I want to continue with the successful traditions, while also welcoming new insights and ideas. We need a Sheriff’s Office that is strengthened through staff development, empowerment, retention, and community interaction. I will work hard every day to create an inclusive, collaborative environment both within the office, and across the community. This county is growing at a rapid pace before our eyes, and unfortunately with growth comes more crime. I understand the diverse law enforcement needs across Gordon County because I have been an integral part of them. I will be a sheriff that is accountable, transparent, and accessible while being active in our community.
The Sheriff’s Office works for the citizens of Gordon County and must work proactively and diligently to serve and protect the community.
My pledge to the citizens of Gordon County is a Sheriff’s Office that will work actively within the community for EVERYONE. I plan to re-establish an effective drug unit and tap into the available grants that are offered to law enforcement, which are currently being underutilized. This will alleviate the financial burden on the taxpayers. I plan to get the department updated with the needed technology that most agencies are already using today. This will advance our Sheriff’s Office and enable us to be more prepared and better equipped to handle situations that will protect the citizens of this county, while keeping our officers safe.
The focus will be to foster and build community partnerships, working together with other Gordon County professionals in law enforcement, EMS, fire, and human services to improve coordination and cooperation between all entities. I am looking forward to working with all areas of public safety collectively to combat crime, while maintaining good working relationships for the benefit of our entire community.
